Mercadera is a hispanic word that stands for "female merchant". Since the world shifted in 2020 due to the pandemic, Galy and Nataly recognized there was a need to provide a safe space for women in our community that were making an effort to make an extra income. They noticed an increasing amount of latinas selling handmade products, clothes, homemade food, catalog items, providing consulting services, baked goods, home beauty services etc. in a virtual market place, but struggling with language barriers, hate comments, and a sense of fear.
